Need a fun night out? Try a cooking class at Make and Take Gourmet!
Make and Take Gourmet is now offering: “By the Seat of your Pants” Cooking Classes!
Learn how to use the ingredients you have on hand in your pantry to prepare delicious, cost effective, gourmet meals!
March Menu:
- Appetizer - Curried Beef
- Entrée - Seared Beef in a Steakhouse Marinade Served over a Smoked Okra and Cheddar Cheese Soufflé’ Finished with a Vegetable Sauté
- Fine’ (aka dessert!) - Pina Colada Bread Puddin’
Join in the fun – come prepared to cook, and try some great food – aprons and utensils provided!
$40.00/per person if paid in advance, $45.00 day of class Reservations must be made by Monday, March 9 for Wednesday, March 11 and Monday, March 23 for Wednesday, March 25
“By the Seat of Your Pants” Cooking Classes will begin at 7pm. Please arrive between 6:30 and 6:45 to be ready for fun at 7pm!

WHAT: Cocktails for a Cause to benefit Couples & Kids
WHEN: Wednesday, February 11, 2009 from 5-8PM
WHERE: Rivermont Bistro (Directions)
COSTS: No cover charge. Just whatever your order for dinner
NOTES:
- If you need to eat on Wednesday nights, drop in to Rivermont Bistro and get a great meal and benefit a great cause. The kind folks of Rivermont Bistro are donating 15% of proceeds every Wednesday night of the year to a designated Central Virginia non-profit.
- Couples & Kids will benefit on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, 5-8 pm. All food and drink is included (it is not necessary to purchase cocktails). Just let your server know you are there to support Couples & Kids! Couples & Kids is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing counseling services to the underserved of Central Virginia.
- Bella Magazine coordinates the non-profit benefactors and promotes the event for free in Bella Magazine. Pick up a copy each month at area retailers for a schedule of non-profits who will benefit!

WHAT: 5th Annual Downtown Lynchburg Loft Tour to benefit the Free Clinic of Central Virginia.
WHEN: Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 10:00am - 4:00pm
WHERE: The Lofts Downtown (Directions)
COSTS: $25 the day of the event. Advance Tickets can be purchased at the Free Clinic, Visitors Center, Lynch’s Landing, Beeswax Candle, Shay’s Boutique, Westminster-Canterbury or the NEW Boonsboro GNP Pharmacy for $20 a piece.
NOTES:
- Reception following the event at the Free Clinic - 4 PM-5:30 PM.
- FREE Parking all day! FREE shuttle bus between all open loft apartments.
- Come see at least eight new furnished loft apartments as well as ONE popular “repeater,” a loft building under construction, and some retail lofts.
